Concentration in crafts

The Concentration in Textiles, Ceramics and Glass allows students to create craft works that make use of their technical skills in traditional crafts, as well as their abilities in design. Students acquire concrete knowledge and techniques in crafts, as well as design and expressive abilities, then create works from traditional crafts through contemporary art, that respond to the demand of the current age. Learning about the skills in handcraft disciplines, as well as industrial design concepts of function, you will be able to explore the possibility and limitation of both craftsmanship and mechanical technology. Accordingly, the course cultivates talented individuals who possess flexible ideas and creativity, as a new generation of designers and artists.

In the first year instruction is provided in the craft materials and basic techniques for dyeing, weaving, embroidery, ceramics, and glass. Then, in the second year students choose either the textiles or ceramics and glass course.

From the third year, students engage in even more specialized study. Taking time to fully consider your major area of study, you gain knowledge of materials and techniques, so that you can study deeply and thoroughly. This phase in the curriculum and system helps students to learn to go beyond their courses, which enriches their creativity and develops new expression.

In the 1st year, by experimenting with the 5 courses' materials find a subject that interests you.

In the 2nd year, select the course you wish to pursue for specialized study and further deepen your perception of materials and technique.

In the 3rd year, gain a more professional understanding of your specialized field and create highly original works with your own approach.

In the 4th year, communicate with society through your creative activities and also exhibit a graduation project.
