刺繍 Textile Embroidery
The embroidery field was initiated in 1900, when Joshibi University was established. This is a unique curriculum in Japan. Based on Japanese traditional embroidery techniques, students learn various overseas and creative machine stitches, so that they are able to explore the possibilities of threads and stitches.
Curriculum
Japanese embroidery basics Embroidery studio: Tables for embroidering Twisting threads Silk embroidery threads /gold thread/spools, etc. Stretch the silk fabric on a frame and embroider. Embroidery created by using basic Japanese techniques
Machine embroidery Digital embroidery (Design for binder) Digital embroidery (Design on a PC) Digital embroidery (Automatic embroidering with a sewing machine) v Presentation in a review session
Nagoya <em>obi</em> (belt)/<em>Surihaku</em> (gold or silver foil impression) <em>Surihaku</em> (Glue gold/silver foils on silk fabrics) Embroider, using a frame for <em>obi</em>/kimono Critique session: <em>Obi</em> created with foils and embroidery <em>Homongi</em> (formal kimono for visiting) Critique session <em>Homongi</em> with embroidery, using natural dyes
