アート活動の主体は作品の制作者に限られてきましたが、今日のアートの現場では、さまざまな活動が行われています。他者の協力を得て成立するプロジェクト型の表現、地域社会や関連機関と協働して行うワークショップなどの企画や運営、アートに関連する情報の収集やアーカイヴの構築、従来の展示空間に縛られない自由な表現やキュレーション。これらの活動もアーティスト同様、主体的な活動として重視されています。芸術表象専攻ではこうした理解に基づき、アート活動を実践的に学びます。

Students will pursue practical studies, combining both experiments and actual management, based on a variety of art-related activities connected to artistic expressions, collaborations, support, curation, education, and management. Specifically, activities will include: the planning and executing of workshops and project-type artistic expressions that can only be held in conjunction with other people’s assistance; organizing, managing and supporting projects performed in collaboration with local communities and related organizations; planning and constructing archives that collect art-related references and information; and proposing uninhibited ideas and curating shows that are not confined within conventional exhibition spaces.

예술 활동의 주체는 작품의 제작자에만 제한되어 왔습니다만, 지금의 예술계 현장에서는 다양한 활동들이 일어나고 있습니다. 타인의 협력을 통해 성립되는 프로젝트 형 예술 표현, 타지역 사회와 관련 기관등과 협조하여 실시되는 워크샵 등의 기획과 운영, 예술과 관련된 정보의 수집과 아카이브의 구축, 기존의 전시 공간에 제한 받지 않는 자유로운 표현과 큐레이션. 이러한 활동들 또한 아티스트와 동등하게, 주체적인 활동으로서 중시되고 있습니다. 예술 표상 전공에서는 이러한 이해를 기본으로, 예술 활동을 실천적으로 배워갑니다.
