芸術表象専攻では、現代美術の制作を行うことができます。現代美術は、これまでの「美術」という枠組に収まりきらない多種多様な展開をみせており、美術をめぐる社会的な共通理解が成り立ちにくい状況が到来しています。それゆえ、現代の制作者は、既成の「美術」論にもたれかかることなく、自作のはらむ力と、自分自身の考えとによって制作の意義を主張してゆかなければなりません。芸術表象が目指すのは、知性と感性のこうした協働において成り立つ現代美術です。

The Concentration in Art Theory and Practice, students can involve themselves in the creation of contemporary art. The contemporary art of today includes a great variety of forms and methods that can no longer be confined to the traditional frameworks of “fine art.” As a result, we have entered an era in which it is difficult to achieve common understanding of art throughout society. And for this reason, contemporary creators can no longer cling to existing “art” theories but must demonstrate the meaning of their creative activities through the inherent strength of their own creations and expression of their own thoughts and ideas. As a major, Art Representation seeks the realization of contemporary art based on this type of creative fusion of intellect and emotional sensibilities.

예술 표상 전공에서는, 현대 미술의 작품 제작이 가능합니다. 현대 미술은, 종래의 “미술”이라고 하는 틀로는 소화할 수 없는 다양한 전개를 보이고 있으며, 미술을 둘러싼 사회의 공통적 이해 또한 그 성립이 까다로운 상황이 도래되었습니다. 그러하므로, 현시대의 작가들은 기존의 “미술”론에 의존하지 않고, 자신의 작품이 가지는 힘과 자기자신의 사고에 입각한 작품 제작의 의미를 주장해 나가지 않으면 안됩니다. 예술 표상이 지향하는 것은, 그러한 지성과 감성이 어우러져 만들어지는 현대 미술입니다.
