展覧会を立案、監督すること。単にアーティストや開催場所を選ぶだけでなく、展覧会が目指す趣旨を打ち出し、アーティスト同士を結びつける関係性や問題意識、開催場所の意味などを明示し、展覧会全体が一つのまとまりある出来事として意味を持つように作り上げることをキュレーションと呼ぶ。　キュレーションを専門にする人はキュレータ（curator英語では学芸員と同義である）と呼ばれる。

To plan and direct an exhibition. Not only to select artists and a venue but also to establish a concept for the exhibition. And to organize some related events so that the whole exhibition makes sense as a single event. Those who specialize in curation are called curators (And so are museum attendants in English-speaking countries).
